• Will Holdfast™ work on my door? What gap size do I need? Holdfast™ works on inward-swinging doors with a gap of at least 1/8" between the door and the door frame. Most standard residential doors have a gap of 1/4" or more, so it installs directly with no extra work. If your gap is exactly 1/8", you may need to lightly mortise (chisel out) a small amount of the frame — about a 10-minute job.

• Can someone unlock it from outside the door? No. The Holdfast™ latch can only be operated from inside your home. There is no keyhole, no cable release, and no external handle. When it's latched, the door simply cannot be opened from outside — period.
